Q) When is the deadline for nominations?
A) Nominations must be received by March 1, 2017.

Q) When will winners be notified?
A) Honorees will be notified in spring 2017.

Q) What does the winner receive?
A) Honorees will receive a donation of $10,000 to the medical mission-centered organization of their choice. One physician will be chosen as well as one advanced practitioner.

Q) Is this only for medical doctors, or are other healthcare professionals eligible?
A) Physicians, including (M.D.s and D.O.s), CRNAs, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, clinical nurse specialists and certified nurse midwives are eligible.

Q) Can I nominate myself?
A) Yes, self nominations are accepted and encouraged. Please provide a third-party endorsement or testimonial of your work within the nomination form.

Q) Do charities receiving the prize money have to be 501(c)(3) organizations?
A) Physicians who do charity work independently or in conjunction with a not-for-profit organization are eligible for this award. If you are doing this work independently or through a non-registered charitable organization, you may be asked to provide supporting documentation before you are given an award. Contact us at

Q) Is this only for healthcare clinicians who do religious-based mission work?
A) No, this award is for healthcare clinicians who do any type of domestic or international medical relief work with any not-for-profit organization.


Q) I do charity work locally. Is this also for domestic charity work?
A) Yes, volunteer work in the United States is also considered.

Q) I take on some charity cases through my practice. Am I eligible?
A) Yes, physicians who do charity work independently or in conjunction with a not-for-profit organization are eligible for this award. If you are doing this work independently and not through a not-for-profit organization, you may be asked to provide supporting documentation before you are given an award.
